Four Memphis residents with little in common but a yearning for self-discovery find out what it truly means to be awake both emotionally and physically as they deal with life, love, and loss in this dramatic collaboration between filmmakers Morgan Jon Fox and Suzi Crashcourse. On the surface, an emotionally isolated gay teen, a suicidal homeless man, a lonely grandmother abandoned by her longtime husband, and a college student looking for something he can't quite define may not seem to have much in comment. As a deeper look reveals a desperate need for each to understand what it truly means to be alive, their search for the truth intensifies and their diverse stories slowly reveal a compelling common thread.
