The Greek film industry had surrendered to exploitation so much by 1969 that a filmmaker like Apostolos Tegopoulos agreed to direct this virtual remake of the smarmy 1963 roughie Asteria sto Vourko. Like that film, this one also toplines Mirka Kalatzopoulou as a naive young ingenue who comes to the big city, drawn to the bright lights like a moth to a flame, and falls into the clutches of ruthless predators who want to exploit and degrade her. Yiorgos Foundas co-stars with Andreas Barkoulis and (also returning from the original) Kostas Kakavas.
