Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
The business of buying and selling mail-order brides is alive and well as this documentary reveals. It focuses on the organization American Russian Matchmaking (A.R.M.) which does a booming business exporting Russian women to American men tired of the liberated women they deal with. These men assume that their Eastern European brides will be meeker, and more traditional. They pay $3,000 dollars for their women. The fee includes a trip to Moscow where the men select, court, and marry their dream girls. Both the women, hoping for better lives, and the men, ranging from nerds, to normal guys, to weirdos, are interviewed.
