Synopsis by Brian J. Dillard
A flashback to Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Chosen reminds viewers that Spike (James Marsters) went up in a blaze of glory saving the world. He was helped by the mysterious amulet that Angel (David Boreanaz) received from Wolfram & Hart and gave to Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar). So why is Spike now standing in Angel's office, having emerged in a pyrotechnic flash from that selfsame amulet? Nobody can say for sure, nor can they figure out why Spike appears to be non-corporeal. As the snarky vampire adjusts to his ghostly new existence and delights in torturing his rival vampire-with-a-soul, the fang gang begins the long process of extricating Wolfram & Hart from one of its shadier sidelines. It seems the firm is in the business of supplying fresh corpses to necromancer Magnus Hainsley (Victor Raider-Wexler), who uses them to give on-the-lam demons a gruesome makeover. The quest to put Hainsley out of business leads Angel and Spike into direct conflict with one another, leaving the team wondering whether their undead visitor is a friend or a foe. Originally broadcast October 8, 2003, on the WB network, "Just Rewards" marked season 5, episode 2 of the supernatural soap opera.
