Synopsis by Mark Deming
In this bizarre but witty short subject from filmmaker Setoguchi Miki, food and eroticism share a common ground in a story of women following their own distinctive muse. Named for a Japanese phrase that roughly translates as an enthusiastic exclamation of beauty, Ananiyashi was screened in competition at the 2007 Rotterdam International Film Festival.
