synopsis
The most amazing aspect of Amazing Lovers is that director B.A. Rolfe actually coaxed a believable performance from star Diana Allen. A former Ziegfeld Follies girl, Allen was one of the screen's great beauties, but her acting was usually on a Thanksgiving Pageant level. Even so, Ms. Allen managed to be convincing herein, playing an undercover law enforcement agent on the trail of counterfeiters. Dignified Marc MacDermott exhibits an admirable sneer as the head of the crooks. Amazing Lovers was based on Robert W. Chambers' novel The Shining Band.
