Greek filmmaker Dimitris Dadiras turned a baleful eye on 1960s Greek society with this stern melodrama following three women (Kakia Analyti, Eleni Hadjiargyri, and Gizela Dalli) who are led into sin for various reasons. Similar to the cautionary tales being churned out in America at the time, though without the prurient exploitation edge, the film emerges as a haranguing lecture from an uptight schoolmarm rather than entertainment, but was seen as a bold moral statement at the time of its release. Petros Fyssoun and Rita Moussori complete a cast which is far better than this material deserved. Rena Kosmidou co-stars with Efi Piombi and Vangelis Kazan.
