Alive and Well on AllMovie

Disaster strikes for a group of plucky if nerdy athletes in this short comedy from director Chris Peckover. The Bakersfield Beavers are in a celebratory mood after winning the state Badminton championship, but things take a turn for the worse during their flight home and the plane crashes in the middle of nowhere. Captain Joel (Neil Flynn), the pilot, emerges from the cockpit and informs the team that their only hope of survival lies in resorting to cannibalism, but since they've only been on the ground for a few moments and there have been no fatalities so far, not everyone is convinced he's on the level. Alive and Well was screened in competition at the 2007 South by Southwest Film Festival.
