Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Nature-loving Vera (Beth Howland) is outraged when the local Parks Department decides to cut down a 100-year-old tree in the front of the diner. Protesting this move, Vera chains herself to the tree and refuses to budge when the chainsaws and bulldozers arive. Ultimately, however, there is a mighty crash of lumber--and it is Mel (Vic Tayback) who bears the brunt of the damage.
