Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
This melodramatic story finds a lonely night-watchman falling in love with a local widow. Although she is fond of the man, there is no romantic spark. Breaking into her house one night, he steals a picture of the woman to moon over in his sad state of unrequited love. When his house catches fire, he tries to rescue the picture and is dragged away by police when he admits to the crime in a moment of anguish.
