Greek filmmaker Odysseas Kosteletos directed this drama about two poor young people, Alexis (Tolis Voskopoulos) and Anna (Eleni Anoussaki), who have been neighbors and sweethearts their entire lives, planning to get married when they grew up. Alexis is a talented singer, and one of his demo tapes impresses a record company so much that it decides to bankroll his nascent career. The young singer becomes staggeringly popular overnight, and falls prey to all the usual pitfalls of sudden fame and fortune, including abandoning his beloved Anna for another famous singer, Katy (Despina Nikolaidou). The usual pining and hand-wringing ensues, as fame seems to have completely obliterated Alexis' once-virtuous moral compass. Eventually, of course, true love conquers all and Alexis realizes what a fool he has been, returning to Anna's arms. Nikos Antonakos wrote the screenplay. The ubiquitous Lavrentis Dianellos co-stars with Yiorgos Mazis, Elpida Braoudaki, and Theodoros Exarchos.
