An Iraq War veteran follows an old friend from the barrio into the world of underground street racing, only to find himself torn between true love and a growing desire to gain respect on the streets. By the time he was done on the battlefield, Ed had seen it all. Now he's back in Los Angeles, but everything's changed; his old girlfriend has moved on, and the friends he used to run with are nowhere to be found. The only person in the barrio that Ed recognizes is his old friend Art. Ed and Art grew up together, and these days Art gets his thrills by racing cars on the streets. Of course it's a highly illegal practice, but the adrenaline rush makes it well worth the risk of getting busted. When Mark meets Ann, the two form an instant bond fueled by intense passion and a mutual love of racing. Unfortunately Ed isn't the only local in love with Ann; Big Mike is a racer with a serious mean-streak, and he'll do whatever it takes to drive Ann and Ed apart. When Big Mike challenges Ed to a street-race that will determine the true king of the streets, the smitten veteran must decide what he values more - the respect of his peers, or the love of a beautiful woman.
