Above and Beyond strives to bring a topic that has either been swept under the rug or fictionalized beyond all recognition sharply into focus. That topic is the plight of American POW's during the Vietnam war. This documentary focuses on five such men, and on their postwar readjustment to civilian life. Their reminscences are often unbearably painful; still, the film ends on a positive note. The 58-minute Above and Beyond was released to video by Centre Products Inc.
