Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Filmmakers Alona Seroussi and Keren Yehezkely-Goldstein explore what becomes of the female survivors of terrorist attacks in contemporary Israel with this documentary that follows twelve brave women as they participate in a three month body and movement workshop designed to help them confront a new perception of femininity while recovering from a deeply painful trauma. Israel is a nation consumed by violence, and while the media generally focuses on the people who have died in the tragic cycle of strife, what of the survivors who must going on living with the pain of having their lives irreparably changed? By visiting a workshop led by award winning dancer Ohad Naharin, the filmmakers highlight how these brave survivors learn to learn a new way of functioning without sacrificing their former identities or sense of feminism. It's the first step in reconnecting with their bodies, and a key component to the mental recovery process.
