This is an ABC News documentary, in both black-and-white and color footage, which takes the viewer behind the scenes to the job taken on when a woman becomes "First Lady." Historical profiles on Mary Todd Lincoln, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis are presented in a way that shows the viewer the types of duties and lives these women behind their men lead.
