synopsis
The Musical Journey series of releases juxtaposes picturesque views of key landmarks with classical music on the soundtrack, the pieces chosen for their relevance to the city or region on display. This particular volume begins in the northeast Italian metropolis of Verona -- the locale immortalized by Romeo and Juliet -- and heads south to Florence, before wrapping up in the southwestern port city of Naples. The innumerable sites on display include the Arena Borghetto di Valeggio sul Mincio, the Villa Bonciani, the Bar Vinaio, the Piazza del Municipio, and the Castel Sant'Elmo. The soundtrack features selections by Tchaikovsky, including Italian Capriccio, Souvenir de Florence, and Fantasy Overture, Romeo and Juliet.
