Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Dr. Emerson (Vincent Serrano) and corrupt ship owner William Deane (Thomas Curran) are rivals for the same woman. At a party, Dr. Emerson reveals that he is to operate on a rich old lady the next day and that a relative wants to bribe him to let her die. He refuses to go along with this, but he is weakened by the evening's festivities and botches the operation anyway. Deane makes sure the doctor is arrested, but he escapes. While all this is going on, Deane marries the woman he wanted, but she dies, leaving him with a baby daughter. Years pass and Dr. Emerson returns, wealthy and vengeful. At first he wants to get back at his old rival through his daughter Virginia (Gladys Dore), but when he sees how innocent she is, he changes his mind and goes straight for Deane. He gets Deane onto one of his own rotting ships and keeps him there as it goes out to sea and sinks.
