Synopsis by Hal Erickson

This multireel Fox production was based on Henry Arthur Jones' stage melodrama Hoodman Blind. Dorothy Bernard, one of the more talented alumni of D.W. Griffith's Biograph stock company, plays a dual role as twin sisters, one good, one bad. While the "good" sister marries the handsome hero, the "bad" one conspires with the villain to break up the marriage. This entails the planting of evidence to suggest that the hero is actually a notorious bandit. But just as the husband is to meet his maker, the Good Sister comes to the rescue. According to the trade magazine Variety, Dorothy Bernard had difficulty differentiating between her two roles, thus the plot and outcome of Man of Sorrow proved confusing.
