synopsis
Every culture has its Vietnam; some have more than most. The Argentinian Funny Dirty Little War is set during the 1974 contretemps between Marxist and pro-government forces in the last days of the Peron regime. Digging through the tragedy of the situation, director Hector Olivera ferrets out precious moments of gut-busting comedy, centering around the ramshackle village of Colonia Vena. The film is a microcosm of those tiny misunderstandings and major acts of silliness that result in all-out carnage. The original title for Funny Dirty Little War was No Habra Mas Penas ni Olvido.
