Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Highly opinionated chef-writer Anthony Bourdain, a man who evidently never met a meal he didn't like, was host of this insouciant cable-TV series. Following a tradition established by himself in his best-selling book A Cook's Tour: In Search of the Perfect Meal, Bourdain and his camera crew traveled all over the world in search of "rare, legendary, and sometimes dangerous food." Traveling to such far-flung locales as Vietnam, Portugal, Scotland, France, Russia, Mexico, and even Los Angeles, the self-styled "guerilla gourmet" chowed down on such local delicacies as haggis and lamb gonads (though he drew the line at eating cats or dogs, claiming that his wife would divorce him!). The 22-episode A Cook's Tour debuted January 8, 2002 on the Food Channel.
