synopsis
Through flashbacks, this film tells the story of a house slated for destruction, through images of the lives of its previous inhabitants. The building is a microcosm of recent Hungarian history, containing compromisers of principles as well as upright individuals among its inhabitants. Filled with vignettes of touching human interactions, this film won the Grand Prix at the 1974 Locarno Film Festival.
