Having already been released in various DVD editions, this particular package of Toy Story is a mostly bare-bone, no-frills affair. The film is presented with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.77:1. A closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1, while Spanish and French soundtracks have been recorded in Dolby Digital Stereo. There are no subtitles on this release. Supplemental materials include Tin Toy, the charming short that won an Academy Award for Toy Story director John Lasseter. Anyone looking for a great deal of extra material is advised to seek out the box set of both Toy Story films, but anyone looking to own the film will be quite happy with this solid presentation.
