Ingmar Bergman's sparse drama of loneliness and desire has been given a caring presentation for this North American DVD release. En Passion (aka The Passion of Anna) has been transferred to disc in letterboxed format at its original widescreen aspect ratio of 1.66.1. The audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Mono; the dialogue is in Swedish, with an alternate dubbed soundtrack in Spanish, as well as optional subtitles in English, French, and Spanish. This edition includes a number of bonus features, among them a commentary track from author and Bergman scholar Marc Gervais. Also included is a reading of Bergman's original story by Elliott Gould, a short documentary on the making of the film, interviews with cast members Liv Ullmann, Bibi Andersson, and Erland Josephson, a gallery of production photos, and the film's original trailer. |
