This lavishly mounted historical epic from Thailand gets a well-rounded presentation for its North American release on DVD. The Legend of Suriyothai has been transferred to disc in letterboxed format, in its original widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1, while the images have also been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16x9 monitors. The audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital 5.1; the dialogue is in the original Thai, with optional subtitles in English and French. Bonus material includes an alternate audio commentary track from director Chatri Chalerm Yokol, a collection of deleted scenes, a short documentary on the production of the film, a gallery of still photos, and a collection of advertising artwork used to promote the picture.
