Shoot the Piano Player
Description by Perry Seibert

Francois Truffaut's sophomore effort, Shoot the Piano Player, comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The French soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. English subtitles are accessible. The picture is placed higher on the screen so that the white credits appear entirely in the dark section below the image. Supplemental materials include filmographies for the cast members, and a collection of trailers for other Truffaut films including The 400 Blows, Jules and Jim, The Last Metro, and five more. While this disc could have more extras on it, what is here is good and the sound and picture quality are solid. This is a worthwhile disc for any cinema enthusiast.
