Rob Lowe and Jennifer Grey star in the seething 1998 action drama Outrage. The film is presented in its original aspect ratio, 1.33:1, full frame. This image looks very good, save for a few inherent problems that often crop up with full-frame transfers. While the colors and black levels are all generally solid and bright, overall the picture retains a softness that is usually not too distracting to the viewer. Otherwise, this is a serviceable transfer to a low-budget, straight-to-DVD film. The soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround and aptly supports the film. Though the bulk of the track is directed through only the front and center speaker without any surround sound or strong dynamic range, overall the mix is free of any excessive hiss or distortion. Also included on this disc are English closed captions. Fans may be outraged to learn that this DVD edition of Outrage is a completely bare-bones package -- not a single extra feature has been included on this disc.
