Clarence Brown's family favorite National Velvet comes to DVD with a standard full-frame 1.33:1 image (as any film produced before 1955 should). English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Mono. There are no subtitles on this disc, but English closed-captions are available. There are no special features on this disc, but with the inexpensive list price, few people will complain. Fans of animal movies will most certainly want to see the equine classic.
