Pedro Almodovar's sexually charged thriller gets little in the way of frills for its American release on DVD, though the results look fine. The feature has been transferred in letterbox format, conforming to its original 2.35:1 aspect ratio (the image has also been enhanced for playback on widescreen monitors), and the Castilian-language soundtrack is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 (for those who don't speak the language, the feature has also been encoded with optional subtitles in English, French, and Spanish). The film's only bonus feature is a trailer, but the quality of the presentation still makes this a worthy purchase for fans of the iconoclastic Almodovar.
