Bernardo Bertolucci's infamous Last Tango in Paris comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that faithfully reproduces the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.66:1. The transfer is solid, especially considering how dark and murky much of the film is. A closed-captioned English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Mono. English and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include the original theatrical trailer and an eight-page booklet loaded with production notes, trivia, and other information about the making of the film. Although one could hope for more detailed information about the film, just having this classic film on DVD is a treat.
