biography
Hungarian director Zsolt Kézdi-Kovács specializes in films about the ways in which modern societies cope with extreme problems. Following graduation from Budapest's Academy of Theatre and Film Art in 1961, Kézdi-Kovács co-established the Béla Balázs Studio and made three short films. Between 1963 and 1969, he assisted director Miklós Janscó. Kézdi-Kovács launched his directorial career in 1970 with Mérsékelt Égöv. In addition to directing, Kézdi-Kovács has been the general manager of the Hungarian film production company Mafilm since 1987.
