biography
American screenwriter William R. Cox started out as a journalist and contributor to pulp magazines. In 1948, he began writing his first screenplays in Hollywood. He also became a prolific writer of pulp novels (most of them westerns) using both his own name and several pen-names. Later, he also began writing teleplays. During his career in film, Cox was twice elected as president of the Writers Guild of America.
