biography
American screenwriter Valentine Davies wrote his first screenplay in 1941. Prior to that he had been a novelist and a playwright. His two most famous films are Miracle on 34th Street (1947), for which he won an Oscar, and The Benny Goodman Story (1955) which he wrote and directed.
