biography
Producer Stuart Legg was behind many of noted British documentary-maker John Grierson's most distinguished WW II propaganda films. Legg started out as a protégé of Grierson in the early '30s and went on to direct a few of his own documentaries, most notably his Powered Flight and Song of the Clouds. In 1930, he directed a silent feature film Varsity. In 1957, Legg chaired the Film Centre International in 1957. He has also written a variety of well-regarded books.
