biography
Portugal's Sinde Filipe found success as an actor on stage, television, and in feature films; he has also directed several medium-length films. Filipe undertook dramatic training in Paris in 1958 after briefly studying law. While in France, Filipe studied under Georges Wilson and Marcel Marceau, among others. Filipe debuted on the Portuguese stage as an actor and director in 1964 after spending time in Brazil and Spain. He made his first film appearance in Sete Balas para Selma/Seven Bullets for Selma (1967). In 1973, Filipe directed the medium-length film O Piano.
