• Got involved with the arts in Delhi, where he became one of the founding members of the Act One Theatre Group.
• Worked with the best ad agencies in the country and created several award-winning commercials before venturing into filmmaking.
• Made his directorial debut with the film Yahaan (2005), which won a special jury award in the Best Director category at the Osian Film Festival. It also won a silver at the first Mumbai International Film Festival.
• Started his own production house Red Ice Films in 1999, which he gave up in 2007.
• Runs another production house called Rising Sun Films, established in 2007, along with producer Arijit (Ronnie) Lahiri.
