The fair-haired daughter of heartthrob Lorenzo Lamas (Falcon Crest, Renegade) and his onetime wife Michele Smith, Shayne Dahl Lamas was born in 1985, just prior to her parents' divorce. She entered show business as a print model, prior to signing for one of her earliest acting roles on the daytime soap General Hospital. Lamas next snagged a small role in the feature Endless Bummer (2008) before achieving broadest recognition that same year as the winner on the 12th season of ABC's competition-themed reality series The Bachelor. In that venue, Lamas began dating the season's resident male bachelor, British financier Matt Grant; the two subsequently became engaged but broke off the marital engagement not long after the season ended.
