American screenwriter Sam Mintz joined the Paramount Pictures writing staff in 1929. In 1931, he shared an Academy Award nomination for Skippy (1931). After his Paramount tenure, he worked at RKO and 20th Century-Fox, then suddenly ceased his activities in 1940. Sam Mintz' last effort, after many years away from the Hollywood salt mines, was the 1948 Monogram musical comedy Music Man (no relation to the Robert Preston starrer of the same name).
