biography
East German screenwriter and director Roland Gräf made his feature-film debut with Mein Lieber Robinson/My Dear Robinson in 1971. Gräf studied cinematography at the Academy of Film and Television in Postsdam-Babelsberg East Germany. Following his graduation in 1959, Gräf became a cameraman at Berlin's DEFA Newsreel and Documentary Film Studio. In 1961, he moved to the DEFA Features Studio in Potsdam-Babelsberg. Gräf has been scripting his own films since 1981.
