biography
Educated as a lawyer, Robert T. Haines reportedly left a flourishing practice to heed the call of the stage. A prominent stock company actor/director who toured in such plays as Rose of the Rancho, Samson and Delilah, and The Donovan Affair, Haines made scores of screen appearances in the late silent era -- the governor in The Noose (1928) and the prosecuting attorney in Guilty? (1930) -- but only appeared infrequently thereafter.
