American composer Richard Sherman and his brother, Robert B. Sherman, wrote many popular songs for Walt Disney studios during the 1960s. In 1964, they shared an Oscar for the song "Chim Chim Cheree." In the 1970s, they left Disney and began freelancing; they also began working together on screenplays.
