A dramatic stage actress of some renown, Florence Reed starred in a handful of screen dramas from 1915 to 1921, including The Eternal Sin (1917), in which she portrayed Lucretia Borgia. There would be a couple of character parts in the 1930s, including Miss Havisham in a 1934 version of Charles Dicken's Great Expectations, but Reed's main arena remained the Broadway stage. Although retired since the mid-'40s, she did appear on several television shows, with guest appearances on Philco Television Playhouse (1948) and United States Steel Hour (1953).
