Animator Paul Terry is the father of the famed Terrytoons series that created Mighty Mouse and Heckle and Jeckle. Before entering the film industry in 1915, Terry was a news photographer and a syndicated cartoonist for the Hearst newspapers. As an animator, he created many important techniques. Terry began producing a series of Aesop's Film Fables in the 1920s. He launched his Terrytoons series in the 1930s. He sold his entire catalog of cartoons and his studio in New Rochelle, NY, to CBS television in 1955.
