biography
Character actor Paul J. Micale was born in Cleveland, OH, in 1916, where he appeared in local theater and radio productions prior to serving in the Army during WWII. In 1959, Micale relocated to Los Angeles and began working steadily in television, winning recurring roles on Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. and The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and guest spots on The Untouchables, Columbo, Kojak, The Rockford Files, and Laverne and Shirley. He also made occasional film appearances, as well as continuing his stage work. Micale died as a result of complications of Alzheimer's disease in 1999.
