British lead/character actress Patience Collier appeared in many productions by the Royal Shakespeare Company and in the British National Theatre, on television and in scores of radio shows. In film she is best remembered for her deliciously wicked portrayal of Mrs. Poulteney in The French Lieutenant's Woman (1981).
