Australia born cinematographer Robert Krasker joined the film industry in France; in 1930 he moved to England where he began working as a camera operator on such films as The Four Feathers and The Thief of Bagdad. Soon he rose to become a prominent lighting cameraman who worked on some of England's most distinguished films. Later Krasker became known for his brilliant use of color photography. He won an Oscar in 1949 for his work on The Third Man.
