Despite his blond hair, veteran stage performer Robert Schable was usually cast as unpleasant cads. After a varied stage career in support of the likes of Ethel Barrymore, John Drew, and Marie Doro, Schable entered films in 1918, first as an assistant director, then a featured player. Very busy in the 1920s, Schable became one of the many to leave films at the advent of sound.
