Cinematographer Carl Hoffmann was a key figure in the German expressionist cinema of the 1920s and is especially known for the work he did with filmmaker Fritz Lang. He got his start around 1908 and lensed over 200 films between then and 1912. In the 1930s, Hoffmann turned his camera towards popular commercial films. Hoffmann is the father of filmmaker/producer Kurt Hoffmann.
