Austrian actor Otto Wilhelm Fischer was once a protégé of Max Reinhardt and got his start in Viennese theater. He soon became a popular star in both German and Austrian plays. In the mid-1930s, Fischer began appearing in films such as Burgtheater (1936) and Diary of a Married Woman (1953). Fischer occasional assisted on directorial chores during the 1950s with such films as Ich such Dich (1956).
