A prolific and versatile author, Noel Gerson is known for his historical novels and heroic biographies of such figures as Sam Houston and Teddy Roosevelt. He also wrote western-series, most notably the "Wagons West" series and the "White Indian" series (using the name Donald Clayton Porter). Several of his books have been made into films including 55 Days at Peking. (1963).
