Nick Castle was one of the most famous choreographers in Hollywood from the mid-30s through the early 1960s. Beginning as a vaudeville dancer, he came to Hollywood in 1935 and began working for Fox. He later worked at Universal, MGM, and other studios and has worked with almost all of the big-name dance stars including Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Betty Grable, Shirley Temple and Judy Garland. Castle died in 1968. His son Nick Castle Jr, has gone on to become a competent director.
